space Highlights of the First Quarter Results for Fiscal Year 2004
(April 1, 2003 through June 30, 2003)

space Summary
Economic conditions during the first quarter of this year remained uncertain since the previous period, reflecting the stagnation in domestic personal consumption and the employment situation under deflationary conditions, as well as influence from the sluggish U.S. economy.

In this economic environment, we strived to increase sales of tubular components for automobiles and other transportation equipment, plastic automotive products, etc., and as a result, our sales for the first quarter amounted 12,044 million yen, nearly meeting expectations. As for earnings, under such influences as exchange fluctuations, ordinary income was 637 million yen, and net income for this period was 265 million yen.
