Environmental Initiatives (Promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities)

Sanoh has been advancing efforts to contribute to the conservation of the global environment, recognizing Environmental Conservation as a significant business challenge.

In addition to the development of an environment management system*, Sanoh achieved zero emissions in 2007 as a result of the elimination of the use of four environmental impact materials (lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium) and the separation and recycling of waste materials. As a challenge for reducing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is said to be the primary factor contributing to global warming, we are actively working on the research and development of new technologies such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment including high-efficiency electronic robotics for our internal production equipment, the innovation of our production processes and the effective utilization of waste heat.

In addition, each and every Sanoh employee has committed to continuous local energy-saving activities such as regulating the power usage of lights and computer equipment and promoting environmentally-conscious conservation activities at all times.

Sanoh will continue to examine our influence on the environment and develop environmentally-friendly business activities to help further conserve and protect the world around us.

* Five of Sanoh's principle business locations have obtained ISO 14001 certification since March 2002.
